Essentials of Global Health Practice, Five-Day Summer School – 2025
It’s a wrap: Summer School 2025!
The in-person “Essentials of Global Health Practice”, hosted by the Irish Global Health Network, took place from 14–18 July 2025 at the Trinity Centre for Global Health, Trinity College Dublin.
This five-day intensive programme brought together participants from diverse backgrounds to build practical skills for leading global health programmes, particularly in resource-limited and humanitarian settings.
The course featured expert-led sessions on key global health topics including project planning, budget management, cross-cultural communication, and leadership. Through interactive workshops and real-world case studies, attendees explored a wide range of disciplines such as global mental health, governance in healthcare, planetary health and climate justice, global surgery, one health, and human rights.
With guidance from professionals across academia, NGOs, and public health, participants engaged in hands-on training, networked with peers and mentors, and gained insights into managing development and emergency response projects in the field.
We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for a week of learning, collaboration, and shared passion for global health equity.
