Donabate Community College Workshop Evaluation & Report

May 8, 2012

On April 17, 2012, the Irish Forum for Global Health and Trinity College Dublin’s Centre for Global Health held workshops on global health and development with approximately 85 transition year students (ages 15-17) at Donabate Community College. Activities focused on issues of health and human rights, gender, inclusion, HIV, power, and determinants of health. The workshops included body mapping, completing problem trees, doing a “living sculpture” activity, a bomb shelter scenario, 2-minute student presentations, and a student debate on the motion “people in poor developing countries have no hope of having good health.” An agenda for the day can be found in the Annex of the report. The following report has collated the responses to each question in order to identify themes around workshop strengths, weaknesses, and areas for future improvement.
