NEW: CDC Analysis Supports Declaration of Famine and Humanitarian Disaster in Somali

The Food Security and Nutrition Analysis Unit in Somalia (FSNAU)* announced on July 20th that a famine exists in two areas of southern Somalia and is expected to spread across the southern zone of the country over the next 1-2 months. CDC assisted in the declaration of famine by reviewing and verifying data from 11 surveys of the affected population.
