We’re teaming up with Dóchas and the World’s Best News!

GHW-WBN

Global Health Writes, our fresh take on street advocacy and citizen journalism, is collaborating with the World’s Best News to host a writing workshop on Thursday August 6th from 18:30—20:00 at the Centre for Global Health, Trinity College Dublin (7—9 Leinster Street South, Room 304).  These two initiatives provide important platforms to motivate public engagement and political support for global health, human rights, and development efforts worldwide.

Supported by the Dóchas network, the World’s Best News campaign features unexpected and uplifting stories from across the Global South.  The workshop aims to explore the success of health and development efforts, while providing participants with practical tools for developing positive news stories.  Participants are encouraged to share examples from their own experiences.  Contributions submitted from the workshop will be considered for this year’s print edition, to be launched on September 17th.

The workshop will be led by Ross McCarthy and Sean O’Connell of the World’s Best News, and with support from our own, Bianca van Bavel, Global Health Writes editor.

Transportation stipends are available for those attendees traveling from outside of Dublin.  RSVP to [email protected] by Tuesday August 4th.

We hope to see you there!
