Internships with Irish Aid 

In 2009, Irish Aid launched a Junior Professional Internship (JPI) Scheme aimed at providing valuable experience in a cutting edge development cooperation (policy and practice) environment to highly professional and motivated individuals, who may seek a career in development cooperation and related sectors. The JPI Scheme was intended for those who have at least two years or more experience after college and have demonstrated a high level of commitment, motivation and interest in development cooperation or related sector JPIs have been assigned to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Limerick, Dublin and in the field.

 
The Scheme is ongoing and individuals interested in an internship can register their interest by completing the application form and emailing it to [email protected].
 
Among the areas listed below, those with experience and interest in global health and global AIDS work should also consider applying:
 
– Public Health including HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases
– Nutrition
– Governance
– Economics
– Statistics
– Accounting
– Communications and information technology including journalism
– Development Management/ International Relations/Humanitarian Response
– Human Rights
– Environment / Climate Change
