We have currently two Internship vacancies in the Irish Forum for Global Health, based in Dublin on Tuesdays, with the option to work from home on other days. 

1. Grant Management 2. Communications

Grant Management Internship, March/April 2019

Responsibilities

The intern will be responsible for the following areas:

Grant Management

  • Provide support for the ESTHER Ireland 2019 Small Grant process

Events:

  • Contribute to the event planning and preparation process, taking on miscellaneous tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of IFGH events:
    • Access to Medicines Conference 2019
    • Clean Cooking, 2019
    • Other events, as needed
  • Provide on-site support during events such as welcoming guests, managing presentations, or dealing with technical issues as they arise.
  • Ensure appropriate communications support relating to IFGH public events, such as invitations, RSVP lists and follow-up after events, including evaluation.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly IFGH Executive Management Committee (EMC) meetings and quarterly IFGH Board meetings, and occasionally take minutes.

M&E

  • Maintain and update IFGH & ESTHER M&E Framework in support of the Communications & Event Coordinator.

Communications & content:

  • Create content and articles for IFGH website
  • Create content for the ESTHER Ireland website and newsletter (including interviewing partners).
  • Actively contribute to IFGH outputs on Twitter and Facebook.

Terms

  • The internship will run for a period of 3-6 months from 1 April 2019 (or sooner).
  • The intern will work 24 hours (three days) per week.
  • Interns are not paid a salary, but will receive a stipend to cover travel and food costs
  • The stipend will consist of a monthly payment of €500, to be paid at the end of each month.

Communications Internship, March/April 2019

Communications

  • Work with the Communications and Events Coordinator to ensure that the IFGH website is accurate, user-friendly, and up-to date
  • Create weekly mail-out to IFGH members on recent developments, events and opportunities in global health.
  • Maintain IFGH outputs on Twitter and Facebook.
  • Create content such as photography and video of IFGH and related events to host on the IFGH website and post via social media.
  • Assist the Communications and Events Coordinator with sourcing content and producing a regular Partnerships Panorama newsletter.
  • Work with the Communications and Events Coordinator to continuously update the ESTHER Ireland website with news from partnership programmes.
  • Support Communications and Event Coordinator to ensure that Ireland’s contribution to the European ESTHER Alliance Database is accurate and up-to-date.

Student Outreach Group (SOG)

  • Collaborate with Student Outreach Group Executive Committee (SOG-EC) to organize and facilitate SOG operations and activities.
  • Contribute to IFGH Communications (Twitter, Facebook) on events, activities or actions specific to the SOG or the larger student body community.
  • Create content from SOG events such as photography or video for use on social media and for reports.
  • Keep up to date with activities, events or actions that may be of interest to the SOG or larger study body committee, and disseminate as appropriate.

  • Contribute to the event planning and preparation process, taking on miscellaneous tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of ESTHER Ireland events:
    • Access to Medicines Conference 2019
    • Clean Cooking, 2019
